Consultation and Professional Advice
A consultation gives you independent expert advice about a range of issues, especially valuable at a time of crisis or transition, such as being discharged from hospital and moving into a care home. It allows you to explore the different options in order to make a better and more informed choice.
We offer three kinds of consultation – our National Telephone Consultancy Service, a Basic Consultation and our Inclusive Consultation. Beyond this we have also introduced a range of additional services.
The Basic and Inclusive Consultations include an initial 30-minute pre arranged telephone call beforehand to discuss general information and the issues to be addressed. They include expert advice about specific issues you have identified, such as funding and benefits advice, potential care options and much more. Before the consultation we will send you examples of some of the areas we can cover to make you aware of the extent of our professional knowledge. The list is not exhaustive and we can discuss any challenge you or the older person may have. Both services are available for people living in Surrey and Sussex only.
Both also offer free unlimited phone calls and emails

Our occupational therapy consultants can provide assessment and professional support for purchasing and fitting equipment, which will help your relative maintain or regain independence with daily living activities.
When recommending aids, equipment and technology to enhance independence, we work hard to come up with innovative solutions that enable a person to stay at home, (if that is what they want) cost very little and do not always wear the label ‘disability equipment’.
Long Term Care Planning and End of Life
Relatives often find talking to their elderly loved one about end of life issues difficult and it is often easier for someone independent to do it. We can work with the older person, if they are able to make decisions, or their representative if not, to set out their choices for long term care, treatment in the event of serious illness, end of life care and funeral arrangements.

- Mental Capacity Assessment £150-350
