Liz Tremlett has worked in Occupational Therapy (OT) settings since 2001 and has a wide range of experience in the NHS, Social Services, Housing and the private sector as a rehabilitation case manager and OT Consultant. Liz is a qualified Manual Handling Trainer and has taught in a variety of settings around the country. During her career within the NHS, Liz spent 4 and a half years establishing the rehabilitation service in a local community hospital, whereby she developed her passion for working with older people and during this time, studied for her post-graduate certificate in Gerontology.

Now specialising in working with adults, older people and people living with dementia. Liz is passionate about person-centred care and working with a person’s wishes at the centre of her interventions. This approach has enabled her to assist clients to remain as independent as possible, whilst at times sourcing appropriate assistance and support so that they can achieve this. This can involve complex assessments of the need to establish an appropriate, safe and enduring care plan. Often, this includes liaison with family members and solicitors who hold power of attorney, to ensure that the proposed plans are financially viable and in line with the wishes of the person in need of care if they are unable to express their views.

Liz also advises carers (informal and formal) regarding issues such as appropriate use of equipment and manual handling, to ensure safe working practice both for the person in need of care and the carer.
